Welcome Carpenter Families!
Hi everyone, and welcome (or welcome back!) to Carpenter Community Charter! As parent volunteers here, we can tell you firsthand, this community of teachers, administrators, and families is what makes Carpenter such a special place for our kids. We are so excited for another great year together.
You may already know that Carpenter has been recognized by the California Department of Education as a Distinguished School. Speaking as parents, we can tell you that a big part of what makes our school shine is Parents for Carpenter (PFC) and the enrichment programs it funds.
What is PFC?
Parents for Carpenter (PFC) is a group of volunteer families who come together to raise over $800,000 every year. That money comes from donations, events, community sponsorships, grants, and more, and it goes directly toward the music, PE, dance, science, and art classes our kids love. These programs aren't funded by LAUSD, so without PFC, they simply wouldn't exist.
Our biggest fundraiser of the year is the Annual Giving Campaign (AGC). Any donation, big or small, makes a real difference for your child's education. We really can't do this without families like yours pitching in.
How can I get involved?
Getting involved is easy! Whether you want to help fundraise, stay in the loop on events, or just check out a meeting, the best place to start is our parent portal. You'll find the latest updates from PFC and other parent groups, a place to donate to the Annual Giving Campaign, and lots of ways to get involved and meet other Carpenter families.
And please come say hi at our monthly meetings! We get together the second Wednesday of every month, right after drop-off at 8:15am in Cafe West. We'd love to meet you.
As fellow parents and volunteers with PFC, we're so glad you're part of our Carpenter family this year. See you on campus soon!
